我提供一个表达:tidbit,英文释义是a piece of interesting information,即“趣闻”的意思。
相应的,“吃瓜”可以说成savor/relish/enjoy the tidbit。
A tidbit a day, keeps troubles away.
He wants to succeed by working hard instead of just trading on his good looks.
这里的"trade on his good looks"就是“靠颜值”。
American authorities should respond in kind.
We went on real dates, going for what we considered upscale dinners at Red Lobster and to the movies.
It was hitting us both, I assumed, that there were perhaps important things we hadn\'t discussed, that we had perhaps divergent views on whether this was temporary farewell or an outright, geographically induced breakup.
